We need to focus on Vermont's challenges and make our government work for us.

Our future is being compromised by out of control property taxes, health care and energy costs. The cost of educating students and those results are a top priority in every school district across the state. Our electrical energy future is unstable, the transportation and communication networks leave us poorly connected to the mainstream and our young people have to leave the state for opportunity elsewhere. 

Our infrastructure needs to be expanded to increase the tax base and provide good paying jobs for working Vermonters of all ages. Taxpayers are facing an increasing burden to fund our needs as we watch tax revenues continue to shrink.  

The permitting process for new business in Vermont is an obstacle to our financial success, it takes too long and costs too much which discourages economic growth. We should be offering an incentive package for new business to locate here and help them become more competitive with other regions of the country.

We need legislative leaders with a vision for Vermont's future, leaders with common sense who will stand up and fight, instead of abandoning the taxpayer in front of a bus.

I understand the struggles of business and those of a working family; I am a businessman, farmer and energy producer being challenged every day to lead the way on issues that are important to real people like you and me.
